User Review:
I purchased this vehicle at the end of 2020 for a price bracket of rupees 4 million. It’s a 2016 Toyota
Prius, end of 2018 import. It’s a 1.8 Hybrid engine that produces 90kw(121 BHP) and a torque of 142
Nm @ 3600 RPM which gives the car a very smooth and quick pickup as compared to the other
vehicles of the same category.
Toyota Prius has following distinguished features:
1.
build quality
Being an imported vehicle from Toyota, the build quality of the car is pretty good and solid with
a minimized cabin noise.
2.
Interior Room
It’s a very spacious car in terms of both the front and the back room and can accommodate 5 people
easily and comfortably even on long
journeys.
3. Comfort
With a high quality suspension the ride of the car becomes very smooth and it doesn’t even make us
feel normal bumps while driving or riding the car which further
enhances the ride quality and comfort.
4.
Fuel consumption
Being a hybrid vehicle, it’s obvious that it is going to be one of the most fuel economic vehicles.
It consumes 1 liter of petrol against every 22-25 kilometers which in comparison to any of it’s
competitors .
5.
Safety features
The vehicle comes with a modern anti theft security system which makes it pretty much secure.
Moreover, a solid body and altogether 6 airbags are an addition to
the passenger safety.
In addition to this a more reliable and comfortable drive with a lot more improved road Grip, the
vehicle becomes even safe.
6.
Value for money
Due to the overall appearance, comfort, modern features and all the security and safety features the
car provides the right value for money and is definitely worth it’s price.
Few Possible improvements
1.
Ground clearance
The vehicle itself stands very close to the surface, which may not be very successful for the
road conditions here. It's often observed that it gets hit from below which is a major
drawback.
2. Parts availability
Being an imported vehicle, the availability and pricing of the spare parts is a big issue. Firstly,
not many units of the vehicle have been imported and the time delay and the high prices of the
parts could be one of the reasons for someone to not buy the vehicle.
Attractive features :
1.
Spacious interior
2.
Powerful pickup
3.
High fuel economy
4.
Improved safety features
5.
Futuristic design and features
Competitors:
1.
Honda civic:
The latest model of Honda civic goes way beyond Prius’ league due to unjustified high pricing
however , the same model as of the generation 4 Prius ,that would be the 10th generation of
Honda civic or civic x is very popular based on its looks. However, it lags behind in safety
features and fuel economy and other modern features.
Price: Around Rupees 4 million +
2.
Toyota Grande
Another sedan, a direct competition to Honda civic in the country being the preference of an
even bigger pool. However, besides being comfortable, it's highly durable but lags in fuel
economy which is a major concern these days.
Price: Rupees 4 million +
3.
Honda vezel
Just like Toyota Prius, it’s another imported hybrid vehicle from the crossover category which
is somewhat more popular than Prius itself, however, for a family car Prius would be more
preferable than Vezel and is even more
fuel economic.
Price: Rupees 5 million.
4.
Hyundai Elantra
Again, a sedan from Hyundai that entered the Pakistani market just an year ago, but would not
be highly preferable because of it being it the testing phases and also due to the time lag in the
availability of it’s spare party. Though, it has a very attractive shape and design and is loaded
with features .
Price
: Rupees 5 million.
