User Review:
I purchased this hatchback vehicle at the end of 2021 for a price tag of rupees 2.8 million. It a 2018
model Toyota Vitz, imported to Pakistan in 2021. It’s a 996 CC engine which produces 84 HP @ 6000
RPM which gives the car a smooth pickup but with a little compromised
power.
Toyota Prius has the following distinguished features:
1. Comfort
Because it’s an imported vehicle, one must have a perception about it’s comfort level. Yes! That’s
right, it’s a high quality vehicle with a lot better suspension and ride comfort level as compared
to the locally assembled or manufactured vehicles which brings in a super comfortable drive for
both the front and rear passengers.
2. Spacy
Room
For both ,an intercity ride or a drive over a longer distance, this comfortable hatch back can
easily accommodate at least four adults including the driver, who can travel at grade comfort
and ease with it’s super comfortable padded seats.
3. Safety
features
Talking of the safety features that this vehicles has, one might call it heaven considering the
safety features in the locally assembled cars. It comes with 8 air bags in some variants.
Moreover, it is loaded with a Abs and other road safety features which makes it super secure for
it’s users.
4. Fuel
consumption
To everyone’s surprise, its fuel consumption is pretty much comparable to most of
the hybrid cars available in the market at the moment. It does 18-23 kilometers in a liter of fuel
which might induce a buying decision for many in a market like this ,where almost everyone is
concerned about the fuel economy of the vehicle before the make a purchase.
5. Futuristic
design and features
The hatchback comes with a super futuristic and sleek design which would attract anyone who
gets to see it. Loaded with all the modern features such as lane assist, collision assist, heated and
electronic seats and parking sensors, one can call it an all-in-one package.
6. Value
for money
With all the above-discussed features and options, and that too with such a fuel economy, I would
say that
it surely provides the true value for money.
Few Possible improvements
1.
Underpowered
Being a 996 CC hatchback, with a good considerable weight, I think that this specific
hatchback is a bit underpowered. Probably a 1300 CC engine would have suited it better in
terms of power, however, it would have compromised the fuel economy. Perhaps, the moto of
Toyota behind this hatchback was to introduce a hatchback for within the city commute that
consumes less the fuel. But still, the company needs to do something about it as it’s the only
major drawback with this vehicle.
2.
Ground clearance
There’s a minute issue with the vehicle’s ground clearance like most of the Japanese vehicles,
however, it’s not as low as the other imported vehicles. With a minute alteration to the
suspension, this issue can be resolved. This could be resolved by the company itself which
would be a much better option.
3.
Availability of parts
Just like the other imported vehicles, the availability and cost of the spare parts are a major
concern for this vehicles. Again, expensive parts and a long weight before they get imported
is something associated with the hatchback, that someone knows even before they buy it
Attractive features :
1.
Super comfortable ride
2.
Sufficient Room
3.
Excellent fuel economy
4.
Attractive design
5.
Loaded with features
Competitors:
1.
Toyota Passo
Just like Vitz, Toyota Passo is another 1000 CC imported hatchback, which comes with as
many features as Vitz, however it’s appearance is not that attractive. However, it costs a little
less compared to Passo and lags behind in some aspects like
road Grip etc.
Price: Rupees 2.5 million
2.
Suzuki Cultus
Suzuki Cultus, another competitor to Toyota Vitz, in terms of engine size is a major player in
the locally assembled hatchback market. The vehicle is almost as fuel economic as the Vitz,
however, in terms of build quality it lacks a lot in comparison. Moreover, it comes with
minimal safety features but stays at a
comparatively low price.
Price: Rupees 2.3 million
3.
Suzuki wagon R
Here’s another locally assembled hatchback by Suzuki company. It is a preference of many due
to a price tag even lower than that if Suzuki Cultus and an excellent fuel mileage along with
easily accessible and cheap spare parts. However, it comes with a minimal quality build,
almost no safety features, pathetic stability and road Grip which could be the reasons to buy
Toyota Vitz even
with a higher price tag.
Price: Rupees 2.1 million
4. Kia picanto
Launched in 2019 with a 998 CC that generated 68 HP@ 6200 RPM, It was much appreciated
in the Pakistani market at start. However, due to a higher price tag, delay in delivery dates,
low fuel economy and expensive spare parts that take long to be accessed, the demand
gradually decreased for the hatchback. Although, the build quality was appreciable and it
contained all the necessary safety features and modern design, but due to the above reason it
could not take the expected
market share.
Price:
Rupees 2.6 million
